Team member support and engagement

Volunteerism

SE-001
In FY22, we were grateful to return to more in-person service opportunities and appreciate all of our team members who committed their time to giving back to our communities.

We encourage team members from across the enterprise to get involved by offering their time to support programs that improve health equity, enhance wellbeing, and benefit communities around the world. We offer U.S. and Canada-based team members eight hours of paid volunteer time off for full-time team members and four hours for part-time team members.

In August, team members hosted lemonade stands at AmerisourceBergen headquarters, distribution centers, and at locations around the country with their families and friends in support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, an organization that funds research to develop better treatments and cures for childhood cancers.

For the second year in a row, World Courier in Vilnius, Lithuania, was recognized by the CEE (Central and Eastern European) Business Services Awards in two categories: the Top Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative and Most Transformed Workplace. The Top CSR award was the result of continuously contributing to the wellbeing of the community through an ongoing partnership with Save The Children; supporting the Lithuanian Prematurity Association; and coordinating humanitarian aid for Ukraine.

myCommunityImpact

We believe in supporting our team members in giving back to the causes that matter most to them through myCommunityImpact, Matching Gifts, and Volunteer/Board Service Grant programs, which are all supported by the AmerisourceBergen Foundation.

Matching gifts

The AmerisourceBergen Foundation matches 100 percent of team member donations to any qualified 501c3 organization, and up to 200 percent to select organizations during special campaigns throughout the year.

Volunteer/board service grants

The AmerisourceBergen Foundation provides a $750 grant for every 20 hours of volunteer time and $1,500 for 40 hours of volunteer time logged by team members with any qualified 501c3 organization. Team members serving on a non-profit board can also receive a $1,500 grant to be donated to that organization.

We launch special campaigns throughout the year to offer matches as high as 200 percent to amplify team member donations. In FY22, we were proud to support Ukraine. Together with our AmerisourceBergen and Alliance Healthcare team members representing 30 countries, we collectively donated over $225,000 to organizations including Direct Relief, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund at GlobalGiving. Additional campaigns aided the Kansas Livestock Foundation to help those affected by the Kansas wildfires and to support crises that occurred around the world. We also held our annual Season of Giving winter holiday matching campaign.

Associate Assistance Fund

The AmerisourceBergen Associate Assistance Fund (AAF) is a non-profit charitable organization established in 2012 to provide financial assistance to our team members and their families who are experiencing severe financial hardship due to a qualifying event such as a natural disaster, a severe injury or illness, or the impacts of COVID-19. In FY22, the AAF provided support to all team members located in Ukraine.
